PRELAUNCH / UGLIBRARY
Built for readers looking beyond the polished mainstream shelf — and for authors whose books are darker, harder to place, restricted, BANNED, or simply unwanted by the biggest storefronts.
NOT ANOTHER APP. NOT ANOTHER MARKETPLACE CLONE.
UGLibrary is being built as another place to buy and discover dark fiction online. It is not intended to replace independent bookstores or compete with the communities that already support indie authors.
It is the darker shelf mainstream online retail leaves behind: dark romance, erotic horror, transgressive fiction, controversial stories, BANNED titles, and books that are difficult to place or discover elsewhere.
THE BOOK THAT DOESN'T FIT
The shelf does not need to be safe, tidy, or easy to categorize. It needs to make room for the stories readers are actively searching for.
FAQ
UGLibrary is an alternative online sanctuary in development for the darker side of fiction. It is being built as a central digital place for readers to discover and buy dark romance, erotic horror, transgressive fiction, BANNED titles, and other books that mainstream platforms routinely underserve.
Because the planned model is disruptive: no UGLibrary platform commission. Book profit is intended to go to the author after direct transaction costs and website operating costs attributable to the sale. That means UGLibrary is being designed as an author-first alternative, not another storefront taking a platform cut just for existing.
Because there is no single central place focused specifically on the darkest digital books. UGLibrary is being built so readers can find ebooks and audiobooks that are taboo, controversial, too dark for mainstream merchandising, difficult to place, or simply harder to discover in one dedicated environment.
No. UGLibrary is focused on digital ebooks and audiobooks. It is not designed to replace indie bookstores. Long term, the goal is also for UGLibrary to act as a portal that helps connect independent bookstores with dark authors and darker books they may want to feature.
No. A book does not have to be formally BANNED to fit UGLibrary. The mission is wider than that: books that are dark, polarizing, difficult to market on mainstream platforms, harder to place, or simply the kind of stories readers keep hunting for anyway.
Possibly, but Amazon's exclusivity rules still apply to enrolled ebooks. UGLibrary will not ask authors to violate another platform's contract, and authors remain responsible for complying with their own retailer agreements.
No. UGLibrary will be curated. Final submission standards, file requirements, onboarding rules, and content boundaries are still being developed.
UGLibrary is being designed for authors with demonstrated creative authorship. Fully AI-generated books are not part of the intended catalog. A fuller policy will be published before launch.
No. The author interest form is exploratory only. It does not create a seller agreement, listing commitment, guarantee of acceptance, or promise of a launch date.
There is no public launch date yet. Prelaunch readers and authors will be the first to hear when onboarding and launch timing become official.
